Album Cover

I was hired by Philadelphia based bluegrass band Turtle Ridge to design the cover for their album "Even Lower". They asked for the Three Wolf Moon meme, but with four turtles instead of 3 wolves. It was a challenge to reference but not reference the original meme while still making it Turtle Ridge's own design, and I had fun with rising to that occasion. I loved the hand drawn quality of much of the band's existing brand assets, and felt that it fit their down home bluegrass style nicely. I drew and painted the inner illustration with pen, watercolor, and gauche, and did further edits in photoshop. The frame and type were also completed digitally.
